Research and Planning and After Filming - Label Reasearch and Construction

We researched into existing music labels from the metal genre and used what we had found to create our own music label. 

Roadrunner records are an American Record Label founded in 1980 that focuses mainly on hard rock and heavy metal bands. They are based in New York and are part of the Warner Music Group. They are host to some of Metals most popular bands including; Slipknot, Nickleback, Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Type O Negative among many others and in 2000, Slipknot became the first Roadrunner band to go Platinum. Their Record Label Logo is simple and eye catching it uses a very strong red colour and bold white text however if you did not know the label was associated with metal music you would not make the connection.

Based on this I have created my own record Label. We named it Crusade Records implying that we want to bring social change and act as a trailblazer to the metal genre. We've adopted a similar style to the Roadrunner records logo however the red is a darker shade, a colour more often associated with the metal genre. We have also used a font that is more unsophisticated with a rough edging something more common of the rock and metal genre as it reflects the raw sense of the music. We have also added a white box just to make the logo a bit more visually stimulating and arrows to enhance the idea of bringing around social change by being trailblazers as we are fired aiming to hit the target consistently.

We made a few rough mock ups of what we wanted our didgipack to look like this meant we could experiemnt with the layout before doing the final versions.
